Describing his efforts to find a publisher for her manuscript, Miriam Sedley; noting that the publishers think she should publish it "piecemeal in a Magazine"; telling her that he asked about publishing the manuscript in Fraser's magazine but awaits her permission to give Fraser's the manuscript to preview; giving Jane Welsh Carlyle's opinions on how she could improve the manuscript; mentioning that he doesn't think much money can be made from the manuscript; suggesting that perhaps her ex-husband, Edward Bulwer-Lytton, could be persuaded to increase her meager allowance.
